North Platte Presentation: Tom West & Allan Verlander discuss their commitment to helping get NE sanctioned & about their event on July 24th & 25th in North Platte, Crabs Tryouts, a 6s Tournament (Individual & Team Registration) coming at the end of September 2024, and the College Recruiting Showcase (College Recruiter List will be coming out soon) for Boys & Girls. The event in July is for K-12th grades boys/girls, as well as hands on training for Coaches, Officials, and Clinic Training for Athletes. Also, an Athletic Director Meeting will be held to help educate about the sport of lacrosse. Anne Marie Hawley, Matt Rambo, & Tom West will be the main instructors.   • Lincoln Youth & HS Girls Programs are Trying a New Structure by combining programs into one to help share resources, maximize marketing efforts, and help with recruiting. Currently HS boys program is separate.

  • Omaha Lacrosse Club Board has made an initiative to help spread ANY HIGH SCHOOL boys/girls team or league in the Omaha area its news or events to help grow programs and awareness. They will support by posting it on their social sites, email distribution, & websites, as well as proactively CONNECTING UPCOMING YOUTH to the HS teams that are in its footprint!   • Omaha Lacrosse Club/Greg also reported on the initiative to build a Robust Program & Structure for their Youth LAX Officials. They will exclusively be the training entity to train Boys & Girls high school athletes and train during Fall Ball. They will pay for existing officials to help observe/mentor and train new HS officials for immediate feedback. End of July will be an announcement of the first training for Fall Ball.   • Omaha Lacrosse Club first week of the Fall season is Sept 8th. Fall Registration opens this weekend and same rates as last Fall.

  • Sanctioning: Athletic Director Educational Zooms & LAX Advisor Meetings will take place over the next few months, as well as AD proposal writing teams project is starting. To introduce Emerging Sport proposals, a Superintendents Survey will be distributed. The Allowing of Dual Sport Proposal did not pass (allows for an athlete to play 2 sports in 1 season). The District will be trying again this season.

  • Sport Tourism Funding: Complexes: 50k population for a community or less can apply. See attachment. Info starts on Page 10/11 under, ”Tourism.” Click here for the the link to the document DED will help write proposals and review before submission.

  • Elkhorn: Someone was looking for a complex/places to host future lax specific events in Douglas County.
